Registering for the Program
Welcome to our 2018 Sailing Season!!
Those who register for a minimum of four (4) weeks or up to the full eight (8) weeks will benefit most from the program. For Learn-to-Sail Widgeons and Learn-to-Sail Optimists, we strongly recommend two consecutive weeks of enrollment. We are unable to provide refunds for missed classes or classes cancelled once our season starts. Please refer to our "tuition payments" section on the "Important Information" tab for additional refund details. Registration should be done in advance through our online system. Full payment and medical information, Equipment Respect, and indemnification forms must be electronically signed before the registration will be considered final. We are unable to reserve space for a student until all forms are signed electronically and payment is received. Please see below for all forms.
Enrolling a Student
- Use our on-line registration form and pay with a credit card via PayPal. You will be asked to complete a medical information form as well as electronically sign two waivers. Please accurately estimate your student's skill level as refunds will not be granted for students who cannot be re-assigned to other classes due to capacity or schedule conflicts. Refunds will not be given for students who need to be re-assigned due to lack of skill for the specific class. See below for additional requirements. We do not accept paper registrations.
- Read the " Important Information" page.
Class Placement and Registration Policy
Registration is open to all students ages 8 to 18. The Board and staff have the discretion to assign or re-assign students based on mission, curricula, class and school capacity. Please accurately estimate your student's skill level as refunds will not be granted for students who are not in the appropriate class and cannot be reassigned to other classes due to capacity or schedule conflicts. Refunds will not be given for students who need to be re-assigned due to lack of skill for the specific class. Registration will be granted first to those with complete applications and payment. Completed registrations will be confirmed with an automated e-mail message. A student will be permitted to continue in the program as long as he / she adheres to safety and discipline policies.
Buzzards Sailing School (BSS) awards 12 local children, who would not otherwise be able to afford sailing lessons, a one-week scholarship. They are available on a need-based, first-come, first-served basis. BSS will choose the weeks offered based upon enrollment figures and, if necessary, lend life jackets to recipients.
Please see the website for more information at www.buzzardssailing.org. Contact BSS via e-mail to learn more at email@example.com.
